Preparation of Superhydrophobic Surfaces Based on Rod-Shaped Micro-Structure Induced by Nanosecond Laser

Solid–liquid frictional resistance is mainly attributed to the adhesion caused by boundary layer effect. Superhydrophobic surfaces are expected be an effective method reduce resistance. In this paper, a rod-shaped micro-structure was prepared on of Al alloy (5083) and Ti (TC4) line-by-line scanning with nanosecond laser. The inherent properties metal materials—such as their coefficient thermal conductivity (CTC) specific heat capacity (SHC)—had major influence surface morphology shape size micro-structure. Both two metals showed apparent oxidation during laser ablation, however, degree greater than that due its more fragmentary laser-treated could turn from hydrophilic hydrophobic or even superhydrophobic after being left in air for 20 days, which might adsorption low-surface energy matter air. addition, contact angle larger alloy, ratio height width micro–nano composite alloy.

A simple and one-step method to form a rough ZnO layer consisting of micro/nanoscale hierarchical structures via direct femtosecond laser ablation of the Zn surface is reported for the first time.
